Created in 2018, Fyffes Fit Squad is a multi-award-winning programme that gets kids active through easy-to-learn and fun-to-do exercises.
Over 30,000 children across the island of Ireland have taken part in our face-to-face school's programme, and now we are bringing the Fit Squads back to schools from this September delivered by Irish health and fitness expert, Sharon Flanagan and carried out under the eye of teachers present. Each 45-minute session includes an active workout plus talks and tips on healthy eating, all designed to improve children’s general fitness through engaging and fun-filled activities.
Fyffes ambassadors, David Gillick and Phil Healy visited the school to present the award of €5,000 worth of sports equipment before educating students on nutrition and wellness and putting them through their paces with an exercise session!
Expressing delight, Mark Carey, principal of Gilson National School commented:
The initiative has been a very positive, rewarding and inclusive experience for the pupils and staff alike. The exercise routines provided us with a means to being active and staying fit in an enjoyable way. I would like to thank and congratulate the pupils, staff and parents for their enthusiasm, commitment, and support."
Huge congratulations to all schools and teachers who took part for 22/23!
This is fun. This is fitness. This is Fyffes Fit Squad!
